In response to Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, claiming that Nigeria is now safer than it were in the last five years, Boko Haram terrorists attack Borno Gov. Babagana Umur Zulum convoys in Baga.
Recently, Boko Haram terrorists have been carrying out what I called “Slowly But Tactical Operations” across the North-East/West and left the Military hierarchy clueless and confused.
On Wednesday, it was reported that Boko Haram laid an ambushed on Borno State Governor, Prof. Zulum convoys while on a humanitarian mission to Baga.
To my dismay, Gov. Zulum received all clear indication from the military who also claimed the area had been liberated from the sects.
Zulum, irked, said, “You people said there’s no Boko Haram here, then who attacked us?” He inquired.
Luckily and fortunately, the Governor and the entourage crawled to Safety while some government officials sustains injuries in the process.
Buratai, on the other hand, seems to have lost track of how a Military Officer should operates. The Officers under his tutelage with all indications have less or no moral to further engage the Boko Haram terrorists.
Buratai also claim the soldiers and Nigeria were leaving in peace, another blatant lies that was uncovered as it was reported a junior Military Officer reportedly kills a newly married commander in Borno.
The Military under Buratai are in disarray, confusion, and lack morals and an urgent and decisive action ought to be taken before Boko Haram conquers every nook and cranny of the Nigeria territories.
Boko Haram terrorists and Banditry are still operating with highly sophisticated weapon and well mapped-out Strategy in Nigeria.
My submission is that the Military as a matter of urgency must rise to the occasion and bring Insurgency in the North to an end.
