Uganda president, Museveni ordered IG to probes vote rigging in NRM primaries

UGANDA– President Yoweri Museveni has given an order to the Inspector General of Police in the country to look into the NRM alleged vote rigging.

According to the President, “The IGP is directed to identify all those criminals that took part in these forgeries for criminal prosecution. Get new registrars. The NRM Secretariat should work with the DPCs, RDCs to carry out audit in all the areas of dispute to expose the frauds.”

Museveni, while acting on evidence available, further said; “By copy of this letter, I am directing the IGP and DPP, to use the results of the audit to criminally prosecute all those, or at least the ringleaders of this massive anti-people but shallow forgery that attempts to usurp the sovereignty of the people.”
