Arrested Hoodlums In Ibadan Were Linked With Governor Makinde’s aides – Amotekun commander

Some arrested Ibadan hoodlums are linked to Governor Makinde

Col. Olayinka Olayanju (retd), the Commander of Oyo State Security Network Agency also known as Amotekun has disclosed that some of the arrested hoodlums terrorising residents of the state have been linked to some of Governor Seyi Makinde’s aides.

Speaking on a Fresh FM programme on Tuesday January 5, the Amotekun commander noted that some residents of Ibadan communities have been living in constant fears over attacks by hoodlums.

Olayanju who revealed that some senior aides of the governor have pleaded with the agency to free some of the arrested hoodlums linked to the attacks, however declined to give out their names.

He said;

“Some people would come to plead that we should release those arrested. We arrested some in (Ibadan) North-East less than a week ago and one SA ( Special Adviser) was running around begging us. He came and met me around NTA and I told him that we have handed them over to the police at Yemetu. I won’t mention the name. He is SA to the governor, some are chairmen, some are lawmakers who seek such a favour.”

When asked whether the governor’s aides were behind the unrest in the state capital, Olayanju said;

 “That is what we are saying.”
